Vehicle fire briefly shuts down multiple lanes on H-1 West in Aiea

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A vehicle fire briefly shut down multiple lanes on the H-1 Freeway westbound in the Aiea area Tuesday morning.
It was reported around 8 a.m. near the Kaonohi Overpass.
Traffic cameras showed heavy smoke filling the freeway, prompting visibility concerns for drivers.
The right shoulder and two right lanes were closed on H-1 West but they have since been reopened.
HPD is investigating.
